NEWS RELEASE – STEVE BARIL CHOSEN AS LOBYIST TO REPRESENT VIRGINIA SMOKE FREE ASSOCIATION

Kaplan Voekler Cunningham & Frank PLC (http://www.kv-legal.com) is pleased to announce that Virginia Smoke Free Association has chosen Stephen E. Baril to serve as its government relations representative and lobbyist. Baril has already been actively involved with VSFA by building relationships and providing legal guidance for the group. Baril was officially elected as lobbyist on November 1st and will represent VSFA during the upcoming General Assembly Session which begins on January 13, 2016.
VSFA is a newly formed advocacy group and trade association focused exclusively on Tobacco Harm Reduction (THR) through the use of personal vaporizers, known as electronic cigarettes or e-cigs, as a safer alternative to smoking tobacco cigarettes. VSFA is comprised of retailers and manufacturers, as well as consumers.
Jay Taylor, President of VSFA, said “we are very excited to have the addition of Steve Baril who has such great passion for our cause.”
Steve Baril heads KVCF’s government relations group and also heads the firm’s business litigation practice. “We cater to business owners and entrepreneurs, so we’re naturally excited about representing a new association dedicated to safer alternatives to tobacco smoking. Our initial task is to educate members of the General Assembly about e-cigs and dispel myths about their use,” said Baril.
